Pastor Lucas graduated from Concordia Seminary in São Leopoldo, Brazil, in 1998, and was ordained in 1999 in Curitiba, Brazil. His first call was to Peace Lutheran Church in Campo Bom, Brazil (1999–2004). In 2004, he was called to the Lutheran University of Brazil, where he served as Campus Pastor, Church Planter, Head Chaplain, and Professor (2004–2017). In February 2017, he moved to Canada to serve as Associate Pastor at Mount Olive in Regina, SK (2017–2023). In October 2023, he was installed as Senior Pastor at Hope Lutheran.

Pastor Lucas holds a Social Communications Bachelors degree, and obtained his Masters (MST) from Concordia Seminary, Sao Leopoldo. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry Student at the Concordia Seminary St. Louis, USA. Married to Djenane Hans, they have two children, Charles and Rachel Sophie. Among other things, Pastor Lucas enjoys preaching, teaching, music, leadership and multimedia communication. For hobbies, he enjoys playing with the kids, cooking and working around the house.
