Rev. Lucas Andre Albrecht
Senior Pastor
Pastor Lucas graduated from Concordia Seminary, Sao Leopoldo Brazil in 1998, and was ordained in 1999 in Curitiba, Brazil. He served “Peace” Lutheran Church, in Campo Bom, Brazil from 1999-2004. He was called to The Lutheran University of Brazil (Ulbra) in 2004, where he served as Campus Pastor, Head Chaplain and Professor. In 2017 moved to Canada to serve as Associate Pastor at Mount Olive in Regina SK. In 2023 he accepted the Call to serve at Hope Lutheran.
Pastor Lucas holds a Social Communications Bachelors degree(Ulbra) and obtained his Masters (MST) from Concordia Seminary, Sao Leopoldo. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry Student at the Concordia Seminary St. Louis, USA. Married to Djenane Hans, they have two children, Charles and Rachel Sophie. Among other things, Pastor Lucas enjoys preaching, teaching, music, leadership and multimedia communication. For hobbies, he enjoys cooking and working around the house.

Janice Klassen
Secretary
Janice and her family moved from Vancouver Island to the Lower Mainland in 2013, with Janice joining the Hope Lutheran staff in the beginning of 2014. In the past, Janice has worked as a Teacher Assistant, a Music for Young Children music teacher, and an interior decorator. She enjoys music, decorating, baking, and interacting with people.
Daniel Simpson
Youth Ministries Leader
Daniel Simpson is a Hope Lutheran Christian High School Alumni and Valedictorian of the 2016 Graduating Class (some may say it is a full circle). Following secondary school, he studied business and received a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Away from the classroom, you’d find Daniel serving and working his summers at Green Bay Bible Camp (West Kelowna) as a volunteer then eventually promoted to Youth Discipleship Director (DTP Director). Following graduating university, Daniel worked in the Construction and Banking industries. Currently, Daniel is a Project Manager/Office Manager for a local Construction company. Daniel in his free time enjoys running, reading, working out, playing sports, and watching movies (he is a big Star Wars & LOTR fan).
Michele Malmberg
VBS Coordinator
Michele Malmberg has been the VBS Coordinator at Hope Lutheran Church since 2022. In 2024, she earned her Certification in Children’s Ministry from the Group U Ministry Training Center. Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Education, with a double minor in Curriculum & Instruction and Early Learning. Michele regularly teaches Sunday School and serves as the Secretary of the Board of Governance at Hope Lutheran Church. She also works for Hope Lutheran School as Head Supervisor and Support Staff Michele is a married and mother of three adult children. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, volunteering, and listening to music.
Emily Reilly
Financial Administrator
Emily Reilly has been a member of Hope Lutheran Church since 2011 and served as Treasurer on the board from 2016 to 2022. At the end of her term, she felt God’s encouragement to embrace a new role. When invited to fill in as Bookkeeper during the transition of the retiring accountant, Emily was excited to serve in this capacity. It is a joy for her to serve both the church and school, witnessing God’s work in action. Emily lives with her husband, two teenage children, and her mother, all of whom are very active in the church community. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading novels, volunteering with Girl Guides, and taking walks with the family dog.
