Beauty And The Beast Musical – Thank you from the Directors

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU parents, students… everyone!  Thank you students for all your hard work in learning your lines, songs, and dances. Thank you parents for driving your children to and from rehearsals, bringing them food, helping them with their lines and costumes and makeup, helping supervise children, and bring teachers food and drinks when needed! Thank you to parent volunteers for all your help with costumes, make up, props, and staging. The show would not be a success without all of us working together as we did.

We are having a cast party this Wednesday at lunch time in the chapel and music room.  We would love to see all of you there!

Beauty and the Beast – What an amazing evening!

Thank you again to all our staff, students, parents, volunteers
and door-prize donors who worked so hard to make this evening a wow! Everything from the dinner to the decor, to the cookies, to the special music and of course the production from our students was very special. Donors stepped up with an initial amount of $28.5K to match every dollar our community could raise from the evening. As a result, many families gave generously toward our school facilities initiative and the donations continue coming in.
If you were unable to attend the gala or would still like the opportunity to contribute to our school facilities fund, our students will be bringing home gift envelopes today. Donations can be brought to either campus and can be made by cash/cheque or credit card. We will be sending a Mailchimp in the coming days to update on the facilities initiative and our progress toward the initial $70K goal.

Here’s a one-minute highlight video from the evening:

Uniform Reminders

Our middle school teachers will be the first to admit that we haven’t been very good at keeping on top of students with regards to proper uniform. We’d like to make a more concerted effort in this area moving forward and appreciate your support in helping to ensure your child comes to school in proper uniform or remembers to bring it with them (e.g. PE days).

If your child receives a uniform infraction, you will be emailed a scanned copy of the notice. You are not required to respond in any way; we just want to make sure you are aware. We will keep track of the number of infractions here at school.

Depending on the number of infractions, the consequences are as follows:

1st Infraction: Parent/guardian notified

2nd Infraction: Parent/guardian notified; student issued an appropriate consequence

3rd Infraction: Student phones parent to inform them; student issued an in-school consequence

4th Infraction: Student phones parent to inform them; student issued an in-school consequence

5th Infraction: Student will receive an in-school suspension from school

Parents in Prayer

A parent from the Port Coquitlam campus has organized a once a month prayer time for parents/family members of Hope Lutheran Christian School.

Please join us on the first Tuesday of each month for Parent Prayer. We will meet from 8:55 – 9:30 am and pray for our children, our families, the staff and teachers at Hope and our community of Port Coquitlam. We will share and learn from one another, be inspired by Bible readings on prayer and of course – we will pray together! Email Tina Goetz for more info: [email protected]

Location: Please meet in the narthex/foyer of the Port Coquitlam Campus at 8:55 am on May 7

The dates for the rest of the school year are: June 4
