Daytime Photographer Required

Do you have a knack for photography and have time during the day to take photos at the school? We would like to have a variety of photos taken of students and teachers in their classrooms and in learning activities throughout the day at both campuses.  These photos would be used to update the website and be included in various forms of media such as the annual report. Interested photographers, please contact Lisa Klym at [email protected] 

Parents who do not want photos of their child taken, please ensure the office has a current “do not photograph” request on file.


At-Home Volunteer Opportunity

The Yearbook Committee would like our event photos “tagged” with the names of students attending events.  Parents, team up with your child and identify as many faces as you can. All you need is a time at home and a computer.  Detailed instructions will be provided.

PTL News

Looking for an opportunity to earn a few volunteer hours?  The Pitt Meadows campus is hosting a ball hockey tournament on March 12th and provisions of baked goods are needed for the coaches and concession sales.  Please see the following link to sign up for food provision: Tournament Food


Hearts for Hope Fundraiser

Thank you to those families who have supported our fundraising efforts.  We have surpassed the $10,000 mark! As noted in our February newsletter, the cost savings of owning our own bus versus leasing could be upwards of $8,000 per year!  

Please continue to support this worthwhile fundraiser through online donations on our website and supporting our efforts through the food sales happening the week of March 9th (more details to follow).  

If you wish to receive a tax receipt please visit hopelcs.ca/school and click on the green “Donate” button in the upper right corner.  Your tax receipt will be emailed to you along with a confirmation receipt of your donation.


Next PTL General Meeting

Our next meeting is Friday, March 6th at 9 am at the PoCo Campus.  If you have a child at Hope, you are considered a member of our PTL.  If your schedule allows for it, please consider attending our meeting.  Our proposed agenda is as follows:

Kilometre Club

Our very popular Kilometre (Km) Club will be starting after spring break.  This is a chance for all students to get out and enjoy outdoor physical activity with their friends and parents after school at McLean Park.  Km Club will start on Monday, April 6th and run until Friday, May 8th. The run days are M/W/F from 3:15-3:45. If you are not a runner then walk the route; join us in being active and enjoying the fresh air.  Anyone interested in participating, please use the online registration form: Spring Km Club Registration closes March 13th.

Please note, we need to have two volunteers trained this spring to be a Timekeeper and Event Coordinator (jobs can be combined to one position) for the club to carry forward to next fall.  We have one parent ready to assist and we need one more. This is an easy but necessary part of Km Club – without these positions filled, the club cannot function.  Please consider helping in this capacity.  Job descriptions are available by contacting Lisa Klym at [email protected]

Floor Hockey Concession – March 12: We are hosting the Christian Elementary School Sports floor hockey tournament and could use help in the concession between 10 am and 2 pm. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Mrs. Hammer ([email protected]).

The Well:  Thank you to those parents who have faithfully assisted our food services club with their clean-up.  There are still several dates to fill. 2019 Tax Receipts

Hope Lutheran Christian School 2019 tax receipts (both tuition receipts and applicable giving receipts) are available for pick-up from the Port Coquitlam campus office, beginning Tuesday, February 18.

At least one parent’s signature is required to pick up the receipt, and a service fee will be charged for replacement receipts.

Schola Bohemia 2019 tax receipts are also available for pick up directly from Rita Langrova, upon a parent’s signature.


Mt Seymour Winter Activity Day

A reminder about this week’s field trip to Mt Seymour was emailed last Friday.  You can also read the message here. We are leaving from the PITT MEADOWS CAMPUS between 7:45-8:00 am. We will return to the PM Campus around 5:15 pm.


Hope’s Garden Club

It is almost that time of year! The club will restart at the end of February/early March (date to be confirmed). Stay tuned to next week’s Monday Note to find out details about signing up online. Please ensure you sign up immediately as spots are limited.


Friday Badminton Club

Priority for this club is for students not enrolled in the Pi Academy program.  The Dates are Jan 10, 17, 31, Feb 7, 21, 28, Mar 6, 13 and will provide an opportunity for those students to qualify for the tournament.  Those qualifying for the tournament will have additional practices before the tournament on April 16th.


Survey – PTL

Hope parents we encourage you to take a moment and respond to the following survey (PTL SURVEY) to provide feedback, as a member, and how the PTL can fulfill its role both now and in the future with respect to its organizational structure and leadership. The PTL is an important body through which our parents have a voice in our school and have the opportunity to participate and make an impact on the rich experience that we want our students and parents to have at Hope. 


The Well

The Well will be offering pizza with Caesar salad on Friday, March 6th.  Order forms are due back on Tuesday, March 3rd.


Hope Lutheran Junior Youth

Junior Youth is a ministry of Hope Lutheran Church for all students in grades 5-8 to grow in friendships and faith!
