PTL News

We are very excited to launch an annual capital giving campaign!

Coinciding with the Asian New Year and the celebration of Valentine’s Day, “Hearts for Hope” will run for the entire month of February.  Tax-deductible donations can be made online from February 1 through to February 29 using the Donate button in the upper right corner of our website (hopelcs.ca/school), choosing the “Hearts for Hope” Fund.   Each family who donates will be recognized with their name written on a heart and posted in the foyer of each campus.

This year we are raising money to purchase our own school bus – a bus owned and operated by Hope Lutheran School!  Our goal is $50,000. This amount will allow us to purchase a suitable vehicle and have funds set aside to get us up and running with operational and maintenance costs.   Going forward, the cost of the school bus will be paid as a school operating expense.

As part of the month-long fundraising efforts, a Hope Community and Cultural Awareness evening is taking place on Saturday, February 8th, 6:00 pm at the Port Coquitlam Campus.  This fun and festive evening is open to all Hope staff, school and church families and includes a food tasting of Asian cuisine as well as a very special presentation that you don’t want to miss!

For the Planning Committee to adequately prepare, please indicate your attendance by January 22 at the following link:

HEARTS FOR HOPE COMMUNITY EVENT.

Tickets are $20 for each adult and $10 for each child.  Each ticket has a set tasting portion of different Asian food items.  If your child has an adult-sized appetite, please consider purchasing an adult ticket.  Please indicate the number of adult tickets and child tickets required. Tickets will be available for payment and pickup at both campus offices starting January 27 with proceeds going towards our fundraising efforts.

You won’t want to miss this event – the festivities start at 6:00 pm sharp!

REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS:  Please remember to record your Parent Volunteer Hours as you complete them on your youngest child’s spreadsheet.  Term 1 ends on January 31st and after that date, the sheets will be closed. Please ensure you record any eligible hours prior to January 31st.

If you are short on hours, there are many opportunities, evenings included,  to help with the Bethlehem Walk production. Please refer to the links provided.  More opportunities will be posted shortly.
