Drop Off and Pick Up UPDATE

Thank you to the vast majority of our parents who continue to show patience and adherence to our drop off and pick up procedures.  However, we have noticed an increase in disputes/disagreements within our parent community and with our neighbours regarding these times.  Please note that:

  1. We do not stop or park on Frey street.  It is easily congested and restricts flow.  You may use Frey to drive through, but please do not stop or park on either side of that road.
  2. Parking lot drop off is at the BACK of the lot.  Do not stop or park in the front parking area, but drive through to the back (by the overpass) to let out your students.  This is the most time efficient way to let out students and not cause a traffic backlog in the lot.
  3. Please park in the appropriate spots at McLean Park or along York street.  At no time are drivers permitted to stop at the crosswalk or driveway to let out students.
  4. For the safety of all our children, ALL vehicles are to come to a complete stop at each stop line (Grant Ave. & Frey Pl.), looking both ways before proceeding.

We did have bylaw officers on site last week and will continue to ask them to come out to support our community in being respectful to our neighbours and each other.  If you notice people not following the expectations, please approach respectfully with grace and mercy to point out their mistake in a calm and peaceful manner.  It is getting darker and the weather is making it difficult to see our students and each other.  By following the expectations listed in our Handbook and registration booklet we can ensure a community of respect and safety for all.

Christmas Musical Lyrics for Practice

Many of you have been wondering what the children are singing in our Christmas musical. Attached in a link here are the lyrics and sound/video samples of what the songs might sound like. Feel free to practice at home at your leisure

Beverage Container Refund Fundraiser

This week the youngest child of each family will be bringing a recycling bag home with an instructional letter attached.  This is an ongoing fundraiser for our school and all money raised from your returnable beverage containers goes directly back to providing our students with unique experiences.

The participation in this fundraiser is optional.  If you do not wish to participate, kindly return the recycling bag so we can reuse it.  If you are participating and require more labels, please contact either campus office for additional ReturnIt labels with our school’s unique QR code or follow the instructions on your letter to print labels at the depot.

Participation Opportunities

Parent Assistance Needed – Musical

Dance Moms – do you have a flair for performance make-up application?  If so, we need you!

Our musical is in need of parental support in the way of stage building, costumes and make-up artistry.  Please see the Parental Assistance & Props List document and sign up where you can assist.

School Needs

The elementary campus would like to explore the possibility of installing retractable awnings in the breezeway area between the main building and the south wing.  Participation hours will be given to the parent able to research and schedule supplier quotes.

Please contact Mrs. Watson for more information.
