Hot Food Day

Parent Help Needed

We are looking to use our stage in the gym.  Does anyone have any connections or know of any warehouse space we can use for storage of school furniture.  This space would be temporary for potentially 4-5 months – from January to May.  Please contact the school or administration team if you have any information that can help in this matter.

Christmas Concert/December Calendar Change

We have adjusted our typical Christmas Concert plans to accommodate the COVID situation and ensure our community’s health and safety.  Our students will be recorded performing musical pieces and a video will be sent out to our school families to enjoy over their holidays.  With this format our calendar has also been adjusted as follows:

Monday, December 14 – Thursday, December 17 = Full Day of School

Friday, December 18 = NO SCHOOL (Christmas break begins)

New Hot Lunch Program

Please find attached instructions on how to set up your new Hot Lunch account. Ordering is open for the month of December.

Please note very important dates:

ORDER DEADLINE FOR 1ST HOT LUNCH: Friday, November 27 at midnight.

FIRST HOT LUNCH: Friday, December 4, 2020

Every order will be cut off 1 week before the Hot Lunch date at midnight.

No late orders will be accepted.

Upcoming Dress Down Day

On Friday December 4, the PTL is hosting a special Holiday Themed Dress Down day affair.

Bring $2 and do away with your uniforms for the day.  Wear your most bright and festive Holiday attire to show the Spirit of Christmas.

All funds raised will be going towards PTL special events.

Reminder – Christmas Plant Sale

This is the final week to purchase beautiful poinsettias and live holiday arrangements to help raise money to directly benefit our students.  Our plant sale will run until Friday, November 27.  All orders are placed online at HLCS Plant Sale.  By purchasing a beautiful arrangement, not only will you be spreading holiday cheer, you will also be supporting our Hope students.

Product delivery and pick up will take place the week of December 14th.  Pick up details will be communicated closer to the delivery date.

Please direct any questions to Diana at [email protected]

Thank you for your support, we couldn’t do it without you!

Parent Prayer

Parent Prayer has moved!  Start your week in community with others. Please consider setting aside 30 minutes of your time at the beginning of each week to join us in prayer for our school.

We will be meeting underneath the tents at the Port Coquitlam Campus by the main entrance.

Every Monday from 9:00 – 9:30 am (except for holidays).

Opportunity for Service

Our annual Christmas food drive is going for one more week.  We encourage families to support this initiative that will benefit others who are struggling this season.  Please sign up on the donation form link that was sent by your Class Liaison.

If you have a recommendation for a family to receive a hamper, please send Mr. Lok a short description of why you are recommending them and their contact details.  ([email protected])

Calling All Bakers!  If you would like to contribute Christmas baking to our hampers, this would greatly enhance our food baskets and add that special personal touch that would be particularly welcome this holiday season.  Please let us know if this is something you wish to do so we can know ahead of time the contents of each hamper and keep the baking in your freezer until closer to the hamper assembly date so it stays fresh.

Thank you for your help & support.

Km Club Awards

Tokens were distributed to those students who achieved a minimum of 5 km during our Fall Km Club.  Special recognition to the following students who earned the unique “25” token for achieving 25 km:

  • Priscilla, KB
  • Gabriel, 3B
  • Leah, 4A
  • Arjun, 5A
  • Isaac, 6
  • Shanya, 7A

Max was our highest achiever, running 71 kilometers.  Thanks to everyone who participated and all the parents who provided field monitoring for their cohorts.  Our next Km Club will be in the spring, directly following spring break.
