Volunteer Opportunities – 2019/2020 School Year

  1. Bethlehem Walk Fundraising:  Our Bethlehem Walk Christmas production is almost entirely funded by Hope Lutheran Church and School, with generous volunteer support from our church membership and school parent community.  In an effort to offset production costs, a bake sale will take place after school on Friday, December 6th.  This is a great way for you to purchase a plate of assorted Christmas baking for holiday celebrations.  For those of you missing Fun Food, here’s your opportunity to enjoy some treats! Your time and your baked goods count towards volunteer hours.

To contribute items to the bake sale or to help facilitate the sale, please sign up at the following link:  Bethlehem Walk Bake Sale

2. The Well:  Our middle school food services club, The Well, is in need of one parent a week to assist in the clean up each Friday after the meal service.  If you are able to spare an hour at the Pitt Meadows campus from 12-1pm, they would greatly appreciate your assistance. Please sign up at the following link:  The Well food services cleanup

3. Baking:  Get a jump on your Christmas baking and earn some volunteer hours at the same time.  The Bethlehem Walk production, Dec. 17 & 18, requires 80 dozen pieces of assorted cookies and squares per evening!  Please sign up at the following link and keep your baking in your freezer until the afternoon of the performance: Bethlehem Walk Refreshments

4. PTL Secretary:  The PTL Executive needs a Secretary.  Requirements are to attend each PTL meeting, record discussion items and compile meeting minutes for distribution.  Please email [email protected] if you are interested in this position.

5. Lunchtime Supervision:  We are looking for volunteers for lunchtime supervision at the PoCo Campus from 11:50 am – 12:45 pm each day.  This extra support is needed so the kids can go over to McLean’s Park. Orientation will be provided by Mrs. Watson.  Thank you so much for giving your time in this area! You can sign up at the following link: PoCo Lunch Supervision

International Potluck Event

The International Potluck Dinner was a fantastic evening of delicious food & beautiful entertainment.

With an event like this, there are always MANY people to thank!Thank you to the wonderful planning team: Eva, Jenny, Renee, Larry, Ken and Agnes.

A big THANK YOU to Wendy Wang for her generous donation towards our door prizes and to Mrs. Hautz and Douglas Chow for also donating gift baskets.

Thank you to those who came to help set-up and clean-up. We had so much help!

Thank you to Lisa Klym and Mr. Lok for their support in many ways, including clearing the stage and transporting extra tables.

Thank you to those in our school community who blessed us and shared their gifts of music, singing & dancing.

A special thank you to our Guest Performers from beyond our school community: Rebecca Wang, Mr. Zhang, the Heather Jolley Highland Dancers, Juan Zi and the ballet dancers of “Four Little Swans”, and Aline Avila.

Thank you to the students and staff who carried chairs down from the classrooms and helped us put everything back!

And finally, thank you to our school families for supporting this event. We appreciated the food that you brought to share and hope the evening blessed each one of you.
