Volunteer Opportunities – 2019/2020 School Year

  1. ASSEMBLE KM CLUB TOKENS:  On Thursday, November 14 at 9:00 am we will be assembling the award tokens for the Fall Km Club.  If you are able to spare 1-2 hours, please join Lisa Klym in the Connection Room.
  2. BETHLEHEM WALK FUNDRAISING:  Our Bethlehem Walk Christmas production is almost entirely funded by Hope Lutheran Church and School, with generous volunteer support from our church membership and school parent community.  In an effort to offset production costs, a bake sale will take place after school on Friday, December 6.  This is a great way for you to purchase a plate of assorted Christmas baking for holiday celebrations.  For those of you missing Fun Food, here’s your opportunity to enjoy some treats! Your time and your baked goods count towards volunteer hours. To contribute items to the bake sale or to help facilitate the sale, please sign up at the following link:  Bethlehem Walk Bake Sale
  3. THE WELL:  Our middle school food services club, The Well, is in need of one parent a week to assist in the clean up each Friday after the meal service.  If you are able to spare an hour at the Pitt Meadows campus from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, they would greatly appreciate your assistance. Please sign up at the following link:  The Well food services cleanup
  4. BAKING:  Get a jump on your Christmas baking and earn some volunteer hours at the same time.  The Bethlehem Walk production, December 17 & 18, requires 80 dozen pieces of assorted cookies and squares per evening!  Please sign up at the following link and keep your baking in your freezer until the afternoon of the performance: Bethlehem Walk Refreshments
  5. PTL SECRETARY:  The PTL Executive needs a Secretary.  Requirements are to attend each PTL meeting, record discussion items and compile meeting minutes for distribution.  Please email [email protected] if you are interested in this position.
  6. LUNCHTIME SUPERVISION:  We are looking for volunteers for lunchtime supervision at the PoCo Campus from 11:50 am – 12:45 pm each day.  This extra support is needed so the kids can go over to McLean’s Park. Orientation will be provided by Mrs. Watson.  Thank you so much for giving your time in this area! You can sign up at the following link: PoCo Lunch Supervision

Next PTL Get-Together

The next PTL meeting is on November 15.   The meeting will be hosted at the Port Coquitlam campus followed by a PTL Coffee Fellowship.   If you would like to assist in set up or provide refreshments for the Coffee Fellowship, please sign up at the following link:  PTL November Coffee Fellowship

Upcoming PTL Event

The PTL is hosting a Mom’s Night Out on Friday, November 29 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm to gather together in fellowship and Christmas crafting, making an advent wreath with fresh greenery.

The Advent season is the four weeks prior to Christmas, celebrating the anticipation of Christ’s birth.  If your family does not currently celebrate Advent, it is a wonderful tradition to start. Complimentary Advent devotional booklets will be provided for you to use your wreath at home with your family.

Our wreath making will take place at Amsterdam Greenhouse at 19100 Old Dewdney Road in Pitt Meadows.  Cost is $30. A $10 deposit is due at the office to secure your spot and the balance is due on the evening.

Spaces are limited.  Please sign up at the following link:  Advent Wreath Making

Two ways to order:
