Yearbook Signing: SOCIALLY DISTANCED EDITION

We are excited to announce that the Hope’s yearbook signing tradition is alive and it’s fully digital to suit our socially distanced students.

Jostens has just launched a new platform, Yearbook Digital Signing Pages, that gives every student in our school the chance to create virtual signing pages, invite their friends to leave messages, and print out the final pages to keep with the yearbook as a permanent keepsake. This is free for every student whether they purchased a yearbook or not.

Go to the link below and follow the instructions to set up your signature pages.

Some tips to remember when creating your account and signing others’ pages:

  • Select “Other” as the state when creating signing pages
  • Once you’ve set your signing end date, log out by clicking on “sign out” in the top right corner of the page. You can use the above link to log in at the end of your signing period and print your pages.
  • When signing others’ pages, be sure to move your message so that it does not cover other messages.
  • Don’t forget to include your name when singing pages!

Yearbook Sales

Since this year is certainly one that will be remembered for the current events, be sure you don’t forget about all of the wonderful events and memories of Hope Lutheran’s entire 2019-2020 school year that the yearbook staff has worked so tirelessly to chronicle in this year’s yearbook. The Yearbook was completed just as in-school classes were suspended in April. If you have not yet purchased your yearbook, there still are a handful of copies available to order.  Please pay at the Port Coquitlam campus office by cheque ($25).

Yearbook Delivery

In order to create a safe work environment, Jostens has had to reduce the number of workers in their plant which has caused some production delays. As a result, the printing and shipping of our yearbooks has been delayed.  We anticipate their delivery by the end of June and will provide an exact day when the books have been shipped. At that point, families will be able to pick up their yearbook(s) from the Port Coquitlam campus office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm throughout the month of July or when school resumes in the fall.

Please contact Mrs. Lightbourn ([email protected]) if you have any questions regarding the yearbook.

Final Chapel

Our final chapel will be held Wednesday, June 17, at 9:30 am.  This will be our final year end celebration.  During this time, we will recognize our award recipients, host some highlights of the typical Grade 5 celebration and Grade 8 Grad, as well as other year-end shout-outs and videos.  This chapel will be hosted through Zoom (NOT Facebook).  Please look for an email with the Zoom details that will be sent out Monday, June 15, late in the afternoon.

Grade 4 Field Trip – Onsite Students

This Thursday, June 18, the onsite Grade 4 students will be going to Lions Park from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Students need to dress for the weather and can bring a towel and extra footwear for our walk near the river. Students must bring a packable lunch and extra snacks for the day.

Return of School Property

For those families that were loaned a school device or school resources for [email protected], we will be using our Friday afternoon, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, time to collect these items back. Families that are on site for the partial return will be able to hand in items to the office on their last day.

Fitbits

The time has come to return borrowed Fitbits to the Port Coquitlam Campus. Please ensure you remove the battery and place all the pieces back in the box. Attach a note with your child’s name to ensure the school can accurately track whose items have been returned. Drop off can take place this Friday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm during the return of school property time frame or by making alternate arrangements with the office ([email protected]). Please contact Mrs. Olding if you have any questions or concerns ([email protected]).

Alto Recorder Return

Students in Grade 4 should check around at home to make you don’t have any school issued alto recorders. If you have left it at school, then you have nothing to worry about. If you find one at home, please return it to school either during the return of school property time frame or by making alternate arrangements with Ms. Allen ([email protected]). Thank you and have an excellent summer!

PI Academy Sports – Badminton

We would like to welcome Hope families and students to our summer badminton program! As per our provincial health authorities expressed, the Covid19 virus had subsided enough for our community to slowly return to normality.  We will restart yet continue to stay vigilant to protect everyone with best practices in place during lessons. Each session will be limited to 4 participants to minimize close encounters between players during the lesson, and increase the efficiency for learning with a very small group. We also recognize that many of our parents have not been very active during the last months of isolation. Only during this summer program, and to keep things tight, registration will be opened to all including parents and adults to learn alongside their children! For the parents who have not played badminton, do not worry; Coach Ken will get you up to speed quickly, so that you may enjoy playing this sport with your children for years to come.

In order to participate, a guideline policy and protocol will be sent to those registered to review and acknowledge. *Due to this special time of Covid19, there will be a waiver for you to acknowledge prior to the start of your lessons.

Payment options (paid prior or on first lesson)

E-transfer (preferred): [email protected]

Cash in-person
