Lice Check

This school year with COVID restrictions on visitors and crossing cohorts, our lice checks look different.  We are asking our in-class families to please conduct a lice check at home with their child(ren) and return a signed copy of the form provided indicating you have completed this. Students are to return the form to their teacher by Wednesday, January 13.

LICE CHECK FORM – (please complete & send back to teacher)

We are also attaching documents to help with the steps of a lice check and more information on what lice is, how to detect, and treat.  If you have further questions please contact our Parent Lice Check Coordinator, Gail Madanayake at [email protected].

Anniversary Musical Actor Auditions!

We are calling all actors from grade 3-8 to come audition to be a part of our FANTABULOUS, WACKY, FUN, NOSTALGIC WHOLE-SCHOOL, musical event this April. Every class will be performing a musical number in this revue production; however, we will need a small troupe of actors to help tell the story in between these musical numbers.

Auditions will take place at the Port Coquitlam (Elementary) campus on Fridays, January 15 and January 29 from 3:05 – 4:30 pm. Use the SIGN UP LINK below to book your slot. Auditions are open for Grade 3-8. Please wait outside the chapel, distanced and masked, while on the bench until you are called in to audition. You will need to prepare a one minute, memorized monologue and one minute of a song. Be prepared to sing along with the teachers at one point too! Please contact Mrs. MacLean at school or by her email ([email protected]) if you would like some examples of monologues or songs to prepare.

** Safety Information: All rehearsals will take place in our gymnasium with actors distanced by cohort. We will be casting by cohort as part of our safety plan. Many grades will be a part of this play, but each cohort will be alone on stage or distanced from each other. Masks will be required during rehearsals.

We hope to see you all come out for this special anniversary musical revue!  Please sign-up here: HLCS Anniversary Musical Audition Sign Up.

2020-2021 Year Book

Once again, we are excited to partner with Jostens in developing a yearbook that will display special moments for all of us, including individual photos of our school family, as well as candid shots and amazing collages!

If you would like to order a yearbook, you may do so either by paying by cheque or online (please no cash). You may order your yearbook for $25. The deadline for ordering yearbooks is March 1, 2021. A yearbook order form will be sent home with your child(ren) Tuesday, January 12, or for your convenience is available here in THIS LINK.

Please complete the form and return with a cheque or go to the online ordering link and follow the instructions to order your yearbook. Thank you for your support in ensuring we have yet another amazing yearbook to showcase our students memories at Hope this academic year!

Badminton Program – Winter Season

PI Academy Sports is once again delighted to be able to offer badminton at Hope this winter season! To better cope with Covid19, the number of classes and participants have been further reduced, and limited to two classes at the Port Coquitlam (Elementary) campus and one at the Pitt Meadows (Middle School) campus. Please choose the appropriate lesson day designated by your child’s grade.

Thank you to all the parents and the staff at Hope for your great support of the badminton program, and continue to allow the students to learn through purposeful-play.

Payment options:

  1. E-transfer (preferred):  [email protected]
  2. Cash (in-person on your child’s first lesson)

Please find the link HERE to the Signup Genius Winter season 2021 registration:

The parents will be contacted for immediate pick up of their child. If a child is sent home or missed a lesson due to illness, a credit for that lesson will be applied to your account for future redemption.
  2. No make-up classes. No switching classes at any time
  3. Students will be reminded and when possible to keep at least a 2M distance from others during the lessons, and casual discussions
