Below you will find an extensive list of the activities, programs and projects our Congregation develops and \"\"<\/a>supports,<\/h3>\n

as we continue to be active in love, growing in Christ<\/em><\/strong>:<\/h3>\n

  1. Sunday Service<\/strong> \u2013 Sundays, 10:00am. Word, Sacraments, praise, fellowship, and action.<\/li>\n
  2. Mission with Hope Lutheran School<\/strong> \u2013 Activities developed in connection to Hope Lutheran School, reaching out to the community with the love of Christ.<\/li>\n
  3. Oasis<\/strong> \u2013 Coffee and fellowship, every Sunday after the Service.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Oasis – Mini-Carnival – <\/strong>On the 4th Sunday of the month, with\u00a0 he bouncy castle and other fun activities available for kids.<\/li>\n
  5. Church and School Connection Sunday – <\/strong>4th Sunday of the Month, Nov-June. Students from the school and the families join the Sunday Service at Hope. Students bring a message through as skit and\/or singing.<\/li>\n
  6. Board of Governance \u2013 <\/strong>The elected leaders of the Congregation who meet regularly.<\/li>\n
  7. Elders Team<\/strong> \u2013 Spiritual Support to the Pastoral Office and the spiritual work of the Congregation.<\/li>\n
  8. Council of Teams-<\/strong>\u00a0 Representatives of the different teams meet to work together in the life of the Church.<\/li>\n
  9. Music <\/strong>Teams<\/strong>\u2013 Different musicians and groups offer their gifts not only in Services but in different events of Hope.<\/li>\n
  10. Sunday School<\/strong> Team<\/strong>\u2013 Little lambs (Under 5) and K-6 gather on Sundays, 9:00 to be taught and nourished in the Word of God.<\/li>\n
  11. Sunday Volunteers Team<\/strong>\u2013 Responsible for leading the activities, especially on Sunday mornings, in different capacities.<\/li>\n
  12. Video and Sound Team \u2013 <\/strong>Provides sound, screen and live streaming for Sunday Services and other special events.<\/li>\n
  13. LWMLC<\/strong> \u2013 The Lutheran Women\u2019s Missionary League Canada, which gathers once a month and develops different missionary projects locally and nationally.<\/li>\n
  14. Youth:<\/strong> Saturdays, 6:30 pm. Youth Grades 5-8 gather once a week for Word, Fun, Food and Friendship.<\/li>\n
  15. Young Adults:<\/strong> Twice a month on Friday, 7:00 pm.<\/li>\n
  16. Choir: <\/strong>The Hope Choir meets regularly to prepare songs and hymns for special dates and occasions.<\/li>\n
  17. Communication Team \u2013 <\/strong>Development of Hope\u2019s communication tools and platforms.<\/li>\n
  18. Church properties Team \u2013<\/strong> Oversees Hope\u2019s properties and assets.<\/li>\n
  19. Confirmands<\/strong> \u2013 Youth Grades 7 and 8 journey through a 2-year learning process about Jesus and the Bible, leading up to their First Communion with the congregation.<\/li>\n
  20. Sunday Sermon Dive –\u00a0 <\/strong>1st Sunday of the month, in the sanctuary after the Service. Meaningful conversations about the Sermon of the day.<\/li>\n
  21. Thursday Bible Study<\/strong> \u2013 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, 10:00am in the Connection Room at Church.<\/li>\n
  22. Men\u2019s Saturday Breakfast Bible Study<\/strong> \u2013 Every other Saturday, 8:00am at Izba Bistro.<\/li>\n
  23. Small Groups Bible Study-<\/strong> Once a week, in different members\u2019 homes. Study, Growth and fellowship.<\/li>\n
  24. Bible Information Classes for Adults<\/strong> – Wednesdays, 6:30pm, as needed.<\/li>\n
  25. Cook of Concord<\/strong> – Monthly meeting to study the Book of Concord<\/a> as we also share a meal. October to June(Except December) on the 4th Tuesday of the month.<\/li>\n
  26. The Chosen – <\/strong>Every other Saturday, 9am, and every other Wednesday, 7:15pm. Regular meeting to watch the “The Chosen” series, with time for discussion and growth in faith and knowledge, fostering a renewed zest for reading the Scriptures.<\/li>\n
  27. The 7 Minutes devotion –\u00a0 <\/strong>online weekly in our social media platforms.<\/li>\n
  28. Pastoral Office and ministry staff\u00a0 \u2013 <\/strong>Compensation for the full and part time workers of the congregation.<\/li>\n
  29. Baptisms<\/strong><\/li>\n
  30. Weddings<\/strong><\/li>\n
  31. Memorial Services<\/strong> (Funerals) and\u00a0Funeral planning.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  32. Pastoral Counseling.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  33. Shut-ins<\/strong> \u2013 Regular visits from the pastor to members who are unable to attend Church due to health issues.<\/li>\n
  34. Hospital Visits.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  35. MVP, Member Visiting Program<\/strong> \u2013 Regular pastoral visits to the members of the Congregation.<\/li>\n
  36. Shaughnessy Seniors Community Service<\/strong> – Every 3rd Friday of the Month, 11:00am, at the SSC in Port Coquitlam.<\/li>\n
  37. Christmas Caroling – <\/strong>One evening in December, members go out to sing Carols in Seniors Homes.<\/li>\n
  38. Hope Website<\/strong><\/li>\n
  39. Hope Social Media \u2013 <\/strong>Facebook, Instagram, Youtube.<\/li>\n
  40. Fraser Valley Circuit meetings and events.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  41. Food bank <\/strong>\u2013 Monthly provision for our local food bank.<\/li>\n
  42. Community Carnival – <\/strong>Once a year in September, held in the parking lot.<\/li>\n
  43. Special Celebrations<\/strong> \u2013 Christmas, Holy Week, Thanksgiving, among others.<\/li>\n
  44. Special Mid-Week Services<\/strong> during Lent.<\/li>\n
  45. Providing financial support to our National Church <\/strong>(Lutheran Church of Canada<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  46. Supporting the training<\/strong> of our pastors.<\/li>\n
  47. Supporting mission and ministry opportunities<\/strong> in other parts of the country and in other parts of the world.<\/li>\n
  48. Providing the support of regular needs and spending.<\/strong><\/li>\n
