Also, please read the following explanation about Offerings in the Lutheran Church<\/h4>\n

  1. What are offerings<\/i><\/b>? An offering is everything that is brought to the Lord as a response to what the Lord has done in our life.(1 Cor 9:7) Financial offerings are the main way to provide support for the mission of the Church. But offerings can be done in many different ways, such as time, gifts, talents, goods, prayers, actions of love.(2 Thess 3:13)<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Why do we bring offerings<\/i><\/b>? Bringing offerings to the Lord is not an act of bargain (\u201cI will give so I can receive\u201d) but it is an act of responding to God\u2019s love. Everything belongs to the Lord (Psalm 24:1) and as I realize that he gave me everything, my offering is an act of giving back from the heart. (Dt 8:18; Prov 3:9)<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Who can bring offerings to God<\/i><\/b>? Offerings are a response of faith from the heart of the person who trusts in Jesus as his\/her Lord and Saviour. (Hebrews 11:6; Mal 3:6-10)<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. How much should I offer<\/i><\/b>? This is a personal decision, according to what you propose in your heart. (1 Cor 9:7) Our suggestion is that they would be regular (to help in the regular ministry of the congregation) and proportional\/percentual (according to each person\u2019s income).<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Where Does My Offering Go? <\/b><\/em>When you place your offer to Hope Lutheran Church, it goes to support the Work of our congregation, which is being active in Love, growing in Christ to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus.<\/li>\n

    Please find below and extensive list of the activities, programs and needs which our offerings help to develop and maintain:<\/p>\n

    1. Sunday Service<\/strong> \u2013 Sundays, 10:00am. Word, Sacraments, praise, fellowship, and action.<\/li>\n
    2. Mission with Hope Lutheran School<\/strong> \u2013 Activities developed in connection to Hope Lutheran School, a great and strong missionary arm reaching out to the community with the love of Christ.<\/li>\n
    3. Oasis<\/strong> \u2013 Coffee and fellowship, every Sunday after the Service.<\/li>\n
    4. Board of Governance \u2013 <\/strong>The elected leaders of the Congregation who meet regularly.<\/li>\n
    5. Elders Team<\/strong> \u2013 Spiritual Support to the Pastoral Office and the spiritual work of the Congregation<\/li>\n
    6. Council of Teams-<\/strong>\u00a0 Representatives of the different teams meet to work together in the life of the Church.<\/li>\n
    7. Music Ministry<\/strong> Teams<\/strong>\u2013 Different musicians and groups offer their gifts not only in Services but in different events of Hope.<\/li>\n
    8. Sunday School<\/strong> Team<\/strong>\u2013 Little lambs (Infants and toddlers) and K-4 gather on Sundays, 9:00 to be taught and nourished in the Word of God<\/li>\n
    9. Volunteers Team<\/strong> \u2013 Responsible for leading the activities, especially on Sunday mornings, in different capacities.<\/li>\n
    10. Video and Sound Team \u2013 <\/strong>Provides sound, screen and live streaming for Sunday Services and other special events.<\/li>\n
    11. LWML<\/strong> \u2013 The Lutheran Women\u2019s Missionary League, which gathers once a month and develops different missionary projects locally and nationally.<\/li>\n
    12. Youth:<\/strong> Saturdays at 6:30 pm.<\/li>\n
    13. Young Adults:<\/strong> Twice a month on\u00a0Fridays\u00a0at 7:00 pm.<\/li>\n
    14. Choir: <\/strong>The Hope Choir meets regularly to prepare songs and hymns for special dates and occasions, under the conduction of Pastor Lucas.<\/li>\n
    15. Communication Team \u2013 <\/strong>Development of Hope\u2019s media platforms<\/li>\n
    16. Church properties Team \u2013<\/strong> Oversees Hope\u2019s properties and assets<\/li>\n
    17. Confirmands<\/strong> \u2013 Youth Grades 7 and 8 journey through a 2-year learning process about Jesus and the Bible, leading up to their First Communion with the congregation.<\/li>\n
    18. Sunday Sermon Dive –\u00a0 <\/strong>1st Sunday of the month, 11:15 am in the Church. The pulpit viewed from the pew, meaningful conversations about the Sermon of the day.<\/li>\n
    19. Thursday Bible Study<\/strong> \u2013 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, 10:00am in the Connection Room at Church<\/li>\n
    20. Men\u2019s Saturday Breakfast Bible Study<\/strong> \u2013 Every other Saturday, 8:00am at Izba Bistro<\/li>\n
    21. Small Groups Bible Study-<\/strong> Once a week, in different members\u2019 homes. Study, Growth and fellowship.<\/li>\n
    22. Bible Information Classes for Adults<\/strong> – Wednesdays, 7:00pm, as needed<\/li>\n
    23. The 7 Minutes devotion, online <\/strong>\u2013 Live on Wednesdays, 12:00pm on our Facebook page<\/a><\/li>\n
    24. Pastoral Office and ministry staff\u00a0 \u2013 <\/strong>Compensation for the full and part time workers of the congregation.<\/li>\n
    25. Hope Choir<\/strong><\/li>\n
    26. Baptisms<\/strong><\/li>\n
    27. Weddings<\/strong><\/li>\n
    28. Memorial Services<\/strong> (Funerals) and\u00a0Funeral planning<\/strong><\/li>\n
    29. Pastoral Counseling<\/strong><\/li>\n
    30. Shut-ins<\/strong> \u2013 Regular visits from the pastor to members who are unable to attend Church due to health issues.<\/li>\n
    31. Hospital Visits<\/strong><\/li>\n
    32. MVP, Member Visiting Program<\/strong> \u2013 Regular pastoral visits to the members of the Congregation.<\/li>\n
    33. Shaughnessy Seniors Community Service<\/strong> – Every 3rd Friday of the Month, 11:00am, at SSC in Port Coquitlam.<\/li>\n

    35. Hope Social Media \u2013 <\/strong>Facebook, Instagram, Youtube<\/li>\n
    36. Circuit meetings and events<\/strong><\/li>\n
    37. Food bank <\/strong>\u2013 Monthly provision for our local food bank<\/li>\n
    38. Special Celebrations<\/strong> \u2013 Christmas, Holy Week, Thanksgiving, among others<\/li>\n
    39. Special Mid-Week Services<\/strong> during Lent<\/li>\n
