Winter Activity Day
December 19, 2017 – Grade 6-12
The Pitt Campus will be heading to Grouse Mountain for Skiing, Snowboarding, and/or Snowshoeing on Tuesday, December 19th. Parents, please keep an eye out for forms and information coming home this week that need to be returned by November 27, 2017. There are some changes from previous years, such as; parents wanting to ski, snowboard or snowshoe will need to purchase their tickets and any rentals needed at the mountain on the day of the trip.
Operation Christmas Child
At the Pitt Campus we are participating in creating a Christmas Shoe-box through Operation Christmas Child. Each class (Grade 6, 7-8, 9, 10, and 11-12) will create a box for one girl and one boy between the ages of 10-14. That’s a total of 10 boxes!!
This year, boxes from Canada will be going to one of 3 locations;
Central America: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua
Africa: Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Sierra Leone
Europe: Ukraine
Each class is responsible for the $10 to ship each box, a total of $20. Filling the boxes is as easy as helping your child to bring school supplies, toys, games, hygiene products, and sports equipment. Follow the link below for ideas of what to include.
https://www.samaritanspurse.ca/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/
Please do not include; liquids, gels, food or candy, war related toys, anything breakable, and things that will freeze or melt.
National Collection week is November 13-19, 2017. Students should complete all donation by November 10, 2017.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Klassen at mklassen@hopelcs.ca
