Last PTL meeting of the year will be on Friday, June 1.  All are welcome to attend.


Chapel, Panorama School and Class Photos

Wednesday, May 30, will be a whole school Chapel and our panorama school and class photo day, at the Port Coquitlam campus.  Pitt Meadows campus students are to arrive for school at 8:45 am at the Port Coquitlam campus. The whole school Chapel will take place at 9:00 am with the school photo and class photos to follow. Pitt Meadows campus students will then be transported back to the Pitt Meadows campus by bus for the remainder of the day. All students are required to wear their formal uniform (pants -not shorts for boys, sweaters, and black socks/tights for girls) to school that day. It’s a Chapel day so this is the requirement every Wednesday.


CESS Track and Field

Grade 6/7 will be attending the Track Meet on May 29, 2018 at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby. Students will be transported by bus from the POCO campus and will be picked up at the end of the day from the POCO campus. Students need to wear gym strip and bring a lunch and LOTS of water. Parents are welcome to come and watch their students compete. There is also a sign up genius for parent volunteer hours to supervise  sports events during the day.

Gr. 6 Immunization

May 31 Gr.6 will have the second bust immunization. The Public Health Nurse informed that she will use the forms that were submitted for the last time immunizations and there is no need for new form. If you have any questions please contact Maple Ridge Health Unit at 604-476-7036.


Pitt Meadows Day Grad 2018 Car Wash

This Saturday, June 2, is Pitt Meadows Day and our grade 12 graduates will be hosting a car wash from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Pitt Meadows campus.  Come on by!


Fictional Character Dress Down Day

Thursday, June 7, all students have the opportunity to dress up as their favorite fictional character for the last dress down of the school year. Franklin, Anne of Green Gables, Spiderman, Frodo Baggins the choices are numerous!  $2 to participate and all funds will go towards the grade 12 graduation celebrations.


School Supply Forms

An email with full details was sent out to our K – gr. 7 school community, Friday, May 25 and we are pleased to let our school families know that orders can now be placed for the 2018/2019 pre-packaged school supplies.This is an optional program for our families and information is available on the School’s website at the following link:

Parent Prayer

This past school year, a parent from the Port Coquitlam campus has organized a once a month prayer time for parents/family members of Hope Lutheran Christian School.

Please join us for the final prayer time of the school year, Monday, June 4.  We will meet from 8:55 – 9:25 am and pray for our children, our families, the Staff and Teachers at Hope and our Community of Port Coquitlam. School Cafe

School Shuttle Bus Driver Needed

The school is accepting applications for a paid bus driver for next school year.
The bus is a 22 passenger vehicle taking students to and from the Port Coquitlam Campus and the Pitt Meadows Campus during regular school days as well as on Field Trip days.  A Class 4 drivers license, driver abstract and Criminal Record Check is required.  Please contact our school Principal at jlok@hopelcs.ca if you or someone you know of is interested.

After School Robotics/Coding and Media Club

Robotics/Coding Club and Media Club forms have been sent to all grade 6,7,8 parents.  These clubs run on Wednesdays and Tuesdays respectively as per the schedule in the email and sign up form. 


Badminton Club

Due to popular demand, the badminton club will be continue every Monday after school from 3:15 – 5:00pm until further notice.  This time will be supervised by a parent volunteer.  Students do not have to stay for the whole session.

Grad 2018 Bottle Drive

This year’s Grad Committee has an account set up at the Port Coquitlam Bigger Bottle Depot, on Kingsway Ave. If you would like to donate to the 2018 Grad class, you can drop your bottles and recyclables under Hope Lutheran’s Grad account. Thank you!


Hope Lutheran Umbrellas

Just in time for our wonderful West-coast winter weather, the official Hope Lutheran Christian School umbrellas have arrived!  These are amazing umbrellas with an extra large canopy for maximum coverage.  They will be selling for $25 each, and available for families to purchase from the school office, at both campuses.
