Volunteer Opportunities – 2019/2020 School Year

Bethlehem Walk Fundraising:  Our Bethlehem Walk Christmas production is almost entirely funded by Hope Lutheran Church and School, with generous volunteer support from our church membership and school parent community.  In an effort to offset production costs, a bake sale will take place after school on Friday, December 6th at the PoCo Campus.  This is a great way for you to purchase a plate of assorted Christmas baking for holiday celebrations.  For those of you missing Fun Food, here’s your opportunity to enjoy some treats! Your time and your baked goods count towards volunteer hours. To contribute items to the bake sale or to help facilitate the sale, please sign up at the following link:  Bethlehem Walk Bake Sale

Bethlehem Walk Props: A number of props are necessary to enhance the various scenes presented in our Bethlehem Walk production.  The requested items are listed in the following link.  Please sign in the appropriate spot for the item you are able to lend to the production and please confirm its suitability with the teacher in charge before leaving at the school.  All items must be clearly labeled to be returned.  Props Needed – Bethlehem Walk

The Well: Our food services club, The Well, is in need of one parent a week to assist in the clean up each Friday after the meal service.  If you are able to spare an hour over the lunch period, they would greatly appreciate your assistance. Please sign up at the following link:  The Well food services cleanup

Lunchtime Supervision:  We are looking for volunteers for lunchtime supervision at the Pitt Meadows Campus from 11:50 am – 12:45 pm each day.  Orientation will be provided by Ms. Nast. Thank you so much for giving your time in this area! You can sign up at the following link:    P.M. Lunch Supervision

Baking:  Get a jump on your Christmas baking and earn some volunteer hours at the same time.  The Bethlehem Walk production, Dec. 17 & 18, requires 80 dozen pieces of assorted cookies and squares per evening!  Please sign up at the following link and keep your baking in your freezer until the afternoon of the performance: Bethlehem Walk Refreshments

PTL Secretary:  The PTL Executive needs a Secretary.  Requirements are to attend each PTL meeting, record discussion items and compile meeting minutes for distribution.  Please email hopelutheranptl@hopelcs.ca if you are interested in this position.

Upcoming PTL Event – FINAL CALL

TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO SIGN UP.   The PTL would like to offer a Mom’s Night Out on Friday, November 29th from 7-9 pm to gather together in fellowship and Christmas crafting, making an advent wreath with fresh greenery.

Our wreath making will take place at Amsterdam Greenhouse at 19100 Old Dewdney Road in Pitt Meadows.  All supplies are provided for you to take home a finished product. The cost is $30. A $10 deposit is due at the office to secure your spot and the balance is due on the evening.

Submissions are open for the November newsletter.  Do you have a special achievement to highlight? Have you been involved in a service project lately?   Send your submissions to Lisa Klym at lklym@hopelcs.ca.

Water cooler

Do you have a water bottle dispensing unit that you no longer use, taking up space in your home or garage?  If so, we have a solution for you!  The water dispenser in the Pitt Meadows staff room is reaching the end of its life and needs replacement due to broken dispensing taps.  A new dispenser is needed, designed to hold a 5-gallon bottle.  If you have a dispenser you’d like to donate, please contact Mrs. Khun Khun at akhunkhun@hopelcs.ca to arrange delivery.
