PTL News
The last PTL Meeting of the school year will be on Friday, June 7 at the Poco Campus. All are welcome to attend. The PTL is still looking for a President, Vice-President and Middle School Member at Large. If you are interested, please email the PTL Executive at hopelutheranptl@hopelsc.ca.
Parent Volunteer Hours Deadline – Reminder to parents that June 15 is the deadline to enter volunteer hours on your youngest child’s classroom google document link. If you need access to this link, please email your classroom liaison. Please email Jolene at hopelutheranptl@hopelcs.ca prior to June 15 if you have any questions or need help.

Panoramic School Photo Orders
On May 8, Mountain West Studios, the company Hope Lutheran partners with for all of the school photos (individual & class), captured a panoramic image of the Hope Lutheran school community (staff & students).
Order envelopes are available at the school office for 10”x13” prints of the image. A sample 10”x13” image is displayed by the Pitt Meadows campus office.
Orders are to be submitted to the school office by Friday, June 7.
Prints ordered will arrive at the Port Coquitlam school office or for an additional fee can be shipped directly to your home.
Track and Field
Our school placed 6th out of eight schools from the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, but are especially proud of our individual grade placings for our Grade 4 & 5 teams: Grade 4 Girls – 2nd place; Grade 4 Boys – 2nd place; Grade 5 Girls – 5th place; Grade 5 Boys – 3rd place. As always, this event was an exciting day full of wonderful moments.
We are grateful to those who took time out of their day last Tuesday to join us at Swangard Stadium for the Christian Elementary School Sports meet.
Middle School Awards Ceremony and Grade 8 Grad
This year’s awards ceremony for Grades 6-8 will take place Wednesday, June 19 at 6:00 pm. Students and families are encouraged to attend as we take time to celebrate not only the school year and all the students’ accomplishments, but also our Grade 8’s who graduate from Hope this year.
Following the awards ceremony, the Grade 8 students and their families will be heading over to the Boston Pizza in Port Coquitlam for a grad dinner; Grade 7 students have also been invited. Tickets for the Grade 8 family members and Grade 7 students are available for purchase from the office at the PM campus.
Alouette Lake Year End Outing
Permission slips are being sent home today for our year end outing to Alouette Lake in Maple Ridge. The day will include a hike, BBQ lunch, and some leisure/fun time in the afternoon. Parents are invited to attend just to hang out or you can choose to volunteer your time to help with supervision and/or preparing the BBQ lunch. Lunch costs $5 per person (student or parent).
Please have permission forms and money returned to your child’s homeroom teacher by next Friday, June 14.
School Supply Forms
An email with full details was sent out Monday, May 13, and we are pleased to let our school families know that orders can be placed for the 2019/2020 pre-packaged school supplies.

The Well
Order the best ever cheesy pesto chicken sandwiches with chips and veggies for $5.00 on Friday, June 7th. Orders are due Wednesday, June 5. There will also be snacks for sale on Friday at lunch.
Gardening Club
The gardening club will be meeting on Tuesdays.
There will be a plant sale next Tuesday, June 11th at 3 pm at the main entrance to the Middle School. Please encourage our gardening club students by purchasing their plants or produce. They have been working hard since February and would like to sell the ‘fruits of their labor’. The plan is to use the money to improve the gardening program next year. Hope to see you on the 11th!

Parents in Prayer
For the school year, a parent from the Port Coquitlam campus has organized a once a month prayer time for parents/family members of Hope Lutheran Christian School.
The final meeting for the school year will be Tuesday, June 4, from 8:55 – 9:30 am. We will pray for our children, our families, the Staff and Teachers at Hope and our Community of Port Coquitlam.
