This past summer a number of teachers and staff began sensing that God wanted our new school year to be filled with joy. Joy is described in the Bible as powerful spiritual evidence or “fruit” of God’s Spirit working in each of our lives. He gives us a joy that transcends mere feelings of human happiness that we can draw upon each day for strength.

As this new theme of joy emerged, a corresponding verse was found in Romans 15:13:

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

To start the 2018-19 school year, HLCS held a logo design contest where each of our students designed a logo to reflect this year’s theme and Bible verse. The winning logo pictured above came from Chris B in our Grade 6B class and will be used throughout the year as we pursue and reflect heaven’s joy here at Hope Lutheran Christian School.
