The online booking calendar will open at 7:00 am, Tuesday, October 20, and close at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, October 28.

Meetings for additional specific subjects or programs are optional and will be 10 minutes each. (See previously sent email for further details.)

PTL Pumpkin Patch Event

The PTL has arranged for pumpkins to be brought into our school parking lot this Thursday and Friday so that students and parents have the opportunity to purchase a pumpkin for $5 (flat rate).  This is an optional fundraiser for those families that are interested.  Students who bring a bag and their money, will head down during the school day to select their own pumpkin. Afterschool, parents will be able to also select and purchase a pumpkin (or more).  Proceeds will go towards school events and activities.

Parking Lot Closed Thursday & Friday

To accommodate our PTL Pumpkin Patch event, we will be closing our parking lot Thursday and Friday this week.  Parents will need to park in the appropriate areas around the school, being careful to watch for signage and neighbour’s driveways.

Hope For The Future – Survey & Seminar

A reminder to all school families about the Hope Lutheran Christian School survey that was sent out October 7, and the accompanying Hope for the Future session, Saturday, October 31, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The feedback from the survey will help us shape a time of prayer and dialog on the Saturday session. If you are available you may join us in person in the gym at our Port Coquitlam building, or online if you prefer. Space will be limited for both the in person and online venues for safety and to ensure we can facilitate meaningful dialog. The cutoff to sign up for this event is Friday, October 23.

Even if you can not join us on October 31, please complete the survey.

For your convenience please see the survey in the following link:

Parent Teacher League (PTL) News

Parent Prayer

Parent Prayer has moved!  Start your week in community with others. Please consider setting aside 30 minutes of your time at the beginning of each week to join us in prayer for our school.

We will be meeting underneath the tents at the Port Coquitlam Campus by the main entrance.

Every Monday from 9:00 – 9:30 am (except for holidays).

Family Fun Event – We Need Your Help!

We are arranging a walk-through pumpkin patch for the fun of all students at the Port Coquitlam Campus parking lot on Thursday and Friday, October 22 and 23.

To organize this, we need the assistance of parents and their vehicles to transport 200 pumpkins of varying sizes from Laity Pumpkin Patch to our parking lot the evening of Wednesday, October 21.  If you are able to help, please email the PTL at hopelutheranptl@hopelcs.ca to let us know, specifying which time works better for you – 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm.  A member of the Hope PTL will meet you at Laity South Farm, 12725 Laity Street, Maple Ridge, to collect and transport our pumpkins.

The pumpkins will be available to all families for purchase in our school parking lot on Thursday and Friday.  The purchase of pumpkins is not mandatory, however, if your child is to choose a pumpkin please send a plastic bag with them to school.  All pumpkins will be $5 each.  Proceeds will go towards funding school events and activities.

Thanks for your support!

PTL Coffee Fellowships

We have resumed our monthly PTL Coffee Fellowships – an opportunity for parents from both campuses to get together socially as well as having our Principal and Elementary Vice-Principal on hand to answer any questions parents may have.  Coffee Fellowships will typically be the second Thursday of each month at 9:00 am, meeting at the Port Coquitlam campus outside under the covered area at the front entrance.

Our next PTL Coffee Fellowship is Thursday, November 19 at 8:45 am.

Fundraising

The recycling fundraising program is active.  Please use the Hope Lutheran labels and drop your beverage recycling at your nearest ReturnIt Express depot.  Additional pre-labelled recycling bags or just the labels are available at the office.

All money raised through this program will go towards activities benefiting our students.
