Christmas Card Fundraiser

The PTL has put together a Christmas Card Fundraising project where students submitted artwork that has been turned into a Christmas Card (and other items) for sale.  Students will be taking home a sample of their own art project turned into a card today.  Inside the cards is information for you to make a purchase if you would like. An email with further ordering details will be coming out shortly.  In order to receive your Christmas Card order in time for mailing out this year you will need to have placed your order by Sunday, November 8.

Cooler Weather

The weather has become cooler and wetter. Please remember to have students dress in warm outerwear (gloves, waterproof jacket, and boots) that is appropriate for the conditions that day.

Hot Lunch Reminder

Please remember to order your hot lunch by Wednesday evening, November 4, for your child(ren) to be able to participate in this Friday’s, November 6, Hot Lunch.

PTL Coffee Fellowship

Due to the current COVID situation we have decided to suspend the PTL Coffee Fellowships until further notice

Parent Prayer

Parent Prayer has moved!  Start your week in community with others. Please consider setting aside 30 minutes of your time at the beginning of each week to join us in prayer for our school.

We will be meeting underneath the tents at the Port Coquitlam Campus by the main entrance.

Every Monday from 9:00 – 9:30 am (except for holidays).

Fundraising

  1. Our recycling fundraiser is ongoing.  Please drop off your Hope labelled bag at your nearest ReturnIt BC location.  So far we’ve raised $165 through your donations of bottles and cans.
  2. The Student Opportunity Fund (SOFund) was an initiative started last year to raise funds for enhancing student life at school and experiences in learning. Funds are raised through the purchase of gift cards from various businesses with FundScrip.  All students on site at the school will be bringing home a letter today explaining the fundraiser and an order form.  All off-site learning families have received the same information through an email sent out today. Thank you for supporting this simple and effective way to raise funds for students.

Opportunity for Service

This year, opportunities for us to serve others are limited but, as a member of Hope’s community, you can still make a difference in the life of deserving families in the Tri-Cities.

Our annual Christmas food drive is starting soon.  We encourage families to support this initiative that will benefit others who are struggling this season.

If you have a recommendation for a family to receive a hamper, please send Mr. Lok a short description of why you are recommending them and their contact details.  (jlok@hopelcs.ca)

  1. Parents should receive an email from their class liaison soon with a link to a Sign Up Genius sheet listing the items necessary to be fulfilled.  In an effort to avoid duplication of items, the items are specific to each class.  For example: Kindergarten to bring listed breakfast items, Grade 1 to bring listed personal items, and so on. (This way, we don’t end up with multiples of the same item).
  2. Donations of cash & gift cards can be taken to the school office for safekeeping.
  3. Contributions are voluntary.
  4. For health and safety reasons please ensure all donated items are new and unwrapped. (If food item, please ensure it is not past expiry date).
  5. Starting on Monday, November 16, Christmas wrapped collection boxes will be placed in each classroom for Kindergarten through Grade 5.  If you are at the Pitt Meadows Campus, please place your items in the boxes in the campus office.
  6. Donations will be collected for 2 weeks – Monday, November 16 until Monday, November 30.

Thank you for your help & support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Gemma Hooper at rghooper@hotmail.com.
