Grade 3 – 7 Homework Survey

With the mission of equipping each child to impact the world for Christ’s glory, the staff at Hope Lutheran Christian School is seeking input from our parent community regarding the current homework grade 3 – 7 students are assigned. A survey will be sent Tuesday, November 15, via email, for all grade 3 – 7 families to complete.

Notice Regarding Incoming Kindergarten Siblings

Although it feels like the school year has just begun, in the office we are already preparing for next September!
Ahead of each school year we set aside priority spaces for the younger siblings of our current students who would be eligible to begin Kindergarten. This information is determined by what a family has entered on the registration form of their older child. We recognize that it may have been over 5 years since the first student in a family joined us at Hope Lutheran, and new siblings may have been added, or this section may not have been completed by the family at the time. To ensure we set aside enough Kindergarten spaces for incoming 2017 siblings, if your family has a younger sibling who would be eligible (turns 5 by December 31, 2017), please email our registrar, Clare Wood at cwood@hopelcs.ca, by Tuesday, November 15, confirming the student’s name and date of birth.

Retake Photo Orders

Photo order forms for those students who had a photo taken on Retake Day – November 1, were distributed last week.   Please have all orders placed by Friday, November 18, either by submitting to the office or ordering online at order.mountainwest.ca.  No cash orders will be accepted at the school office, only cheque or credit card orders.

School Zone Safety

Some of our volunteers who have faithfully been opening the doors during the morning drop-off time at the back of the school have now completed their volunteer hours. IF there is no parent volunteer at the drop-off area at the back of the school, then Mrs. Malmberg will be at the drop-off area and not at the cross walk.  Please consider volunteering at the drop-off area, whenever you are available, so Mrs. Malmberg can go to crosswalk in the morning.  You may volunteer from 8:30-9:00 am or from 8:40-8:55 am if you are pressed for time.  Do you need volunteer hours? This is a great way to get them.

Drivers please be aware that if our crossing guard is not at the cross walk in the morning, she is at the back of the school opening car doors inthe drop-off area.  Please be extra vigilant when driving on the York St. road.
