Sports Day Update

Our Elementary Campus is having a fun sports day for our kids in grades K-5 but we need your help! This year, due to COVID, there are a few things that will be different.  We have booked the field for 3 days (June 7 – 9) to accommodate physical distancing and cohort restrictions. In order to reduce contact, parents will not be leading the stations or present during the students’ time at the field.  Instead, our teachers will be with their classes and taking on the instruction. We are super thankful to our dedicated group of parents for planning and organizing this event.  A dedicated group of parents are currently helping plan and carry out the activities.

Help is needed on each day for set up, sanitization, and clean up: we still have some available slots for Cleaning up stations, please sign up at Sports Day Assistance

Spell-a-thon Top Fundraisers

A huge THANK YOU to all our Hope students and families for their efforts to fundraise during our whole-school Spell-a-thon last month. Congratulations to Grade 1A and 1B for being the top fundraising classes based on a per student ratio. Well done Grade 1!

This past week we also recognized our top individual student fundraisers as well:

Dan Y. (KB)

Hannah L. (1A)

Ashlyn M. (8)

Charlie S. (1B)

Curtis G. (3A)

Emma G. (5B)

Way to go! Thank you for all your hard work Hope students! We are excited to see how God blesses our efforts and the impact it will have in Jesus’s name!

Anniversary Musical THANK YOU!

After 5 months of hard work and immeasurable support from students,  teachers, administration, and parents, our spring musical has been recorded! Thank you to all who helped make this a reality, whether it was helping students to attend an ever-changing rehearsal schedule, memorizing lines,  dropping off props and costumes, or finding those jeans and t-shirts–all your help and flexibility made this a great experience and production. Thank you again.

As we clean up from production there are still a few props floating around that may belong to you. If you are missing a lightsaber, plastic silver swords, or anything else, please contact mmaclean@hopelcs.ca and she may just have it.

Lice check is a necessary health function for our elementary campus and is done three times a year to keep our environment healthy.  Checks are conducted at the start of the school year, after Christmas break, and after Spring break.

A binder of procedures has been developed and training can be arranged.  Please email the PTL at hopelutheranptl@hopelcs.ca if you are able to help in this way.

Community Relations

Testimonials

Submissions are open for the June newsletter.

Do you have a testimonial about our school you’d like to share, perhaps a word of encouragement you’d like to express to the staff and/or our school community as we close out our 2021 school year?

Please send your testimonials to Lisa Klym at lklym@hopelcs.ca.

25 for the 25th!  HLCS BOOK DRIVE

Thank you for your support!  Our goal was a minimum of 25 books for each grade and some grades have already exceeded that.  Thank you so much!!!

Everyone has celebrated a birthday during COVID.  How about donating a book in honor of your child’s birthday?  Not only would your book have a 25th anniversary sticker on it, it would also have a birthday sticker with the student name attached to it as well.

Please view our “Wish List” with tabs based on grade level: HLCS Book Drive

If you wish to make a monetary donation instead to fund the purchase of books, donations can be dropped off at either campus office (please mark your donation “Book Drive”).

Any questions can be directed to Lisa at lklym@hopelcs.ca
