Re-enrollment 2022-2023

On Friday, February 4, all school families with students currently in grades K – 7 will receive an email containing the link to the re-enrolment information package and forms. The information package will include the 2022/23 tuition rates. Re-enrolment will close on Friday, February 18.

Beginning this year, the annual administration fee has been removed and there is now a single re-enrolment fee of $110 per student. The $250 per student prepaid tuition deposit remains unchanged.

In preparation for the re-enrolment process, please note that the re-enrolment fee(s) and prepaid tuition deposit(s) are due and required at the time the re-enrolment package is submitted

Intentional Acts of Kindness Challenge – February 7-18

Much of what makes our lives better are the small demonstrations of care that people express through their everyday actions – an expression of thanks, the held door, help with a flat tire, returning a shopping cart for a stranger, or even just leaving the kitchen cleaner than it was found.

The smallest act of kindness can change someone’s entire day!  It can come from anyone at any time.  And, it’s the little things that can mean so much.

Kindness is a gift that everyone can afford.

Take the 12-day Kindness Challenge from February 7-18.

Each day, consciously perform an act of kindness. It can be as small as you like.  It could be something as simple as holding the door open for the person walking behind you or taking time to thank someone who offered you help or support. There is no lower limit to kindness.Inspire others – let us know!  Share your inspiring stories and ideas for kindness lklym@hopelcs.ca

Heart-shaped REAL tickets will be awarded to students caught in the act of kindness.  They are also available in the classroom and outside each office to write an encouraging note or compliment to someone.  Spread the love and kindness.

Purdy’s Chocolate Bar Sale for Valentine’s Day

On Friday, February 11, the Grade 5 and 8s will once again be selling Purdy’s chocolate bars just in time for Valentine’s Day! The money raised will help to fund their year-end celebrations. You may purchase on the day OR pre-order your quantities to ensure you get what you’d like using this online form:  Purdy’s Chocolate Bars.  Standard and specialty bars available from $2-$4 per item. This form will be open until end of day Wednesday, February 9.

Chapel Offering for UGM

During our January-March we typically collect toiletries for the Union Gospel Mission (UGM) as part of our chapel offerings along with any money we collect.  With the continuing COVID restrictions it has changed what they are able to offer in their ministry to the homeless.  This year they are asking for tins of coffee, as they hand out 600-700 cups a day.  To save space in storing these we are asking families wishing to offer coffee to this ministry to hold on to the tins until February 10, at which point students can bring them to school and we can store them until UGM visits on February 17 to present our chapel message.

The 2021-2022 Yearbook

Once again, we are excited to partner with Jostens in developing a yearbook that will display special moments for all of us, including individual photos of our school family, as well as candid shots and amazing collages!

If you would like to order a yearbook the cost is $25.  Yearbooks can be ordered with this link: Hope Lutheran Christian School, following the ordering instructions, or using a Yearbook order form, available through the school office.  If ordering with the yearbook form payment is by cheque only (to Hope Lutheran School), no cash. The cutoff for ordering a yearbook is April 1, 2022.  Thank you for your support in ensuring we have yet another amazing yearbook to showcase our students’ memories at Hope this academic year!

Parent Prayer

You are invited and welcome to join other parents and our school administration to pray (even if you’ve never prayed before!). Please consider setting aside 30 minutes of your time at the beginning of each week to join us for Parent Prayer as we pray for our school, families, and community.

We will be meeting outside at the elementary Campus by the main entrance.

Every Monday from 9:00 – 9:30 am (except for holidays).
