COVID-19 Daily Health Check Website

The K-12 Health Check contains the most up-to-date B.C. health guidelines and is user-friendly for children to complete daily. This resource can assist in preventative measures for families and help with the decision on whether students should attend school that day.  You can also download the app via the following links: iPhone/iPad iOS or Android devices.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Safety Concerns

We ask again that parents and guardians be extra vigilant in keeping our students safe during our morning drop off and afternoon pick up. We understand the limited parking at these busy times, and ask for patience and grace while finding a spot to park, while following the city signage and road rules. Please be aware that students and adults may be exiting vehicles into the street and leave appropriate spacing.  We thank you for your care and support of these measures.

Whole School Spell-a-thon

This year’s Spell-a-thon will take place this Friday, April 22 in every class from K-8. All monies raised from pledges will go towards the Grade 8 grad in June and next year’s Grade 8 mission trip. For more details, please see the parent letter and package of information that was sent home with your child Friday, April 8.

City-Wide Garage Sale – Last Chance for Table Rental

The City of Port Coquitlam’s City-wide garage sale gives residents a chance to declutter, make some cash and find a new home for reusable items. Held following Earth Week, the annual event is part of the City’s ongoing waste-reduction efforts. Participants dispose of their unwanted items in an earth-friendly way, while benefiting from the additional bargain hunters drawn out by the large number of garage sales.

This year the garage sale will be on April 23, 2022 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and Hope Lutheran Church and School will be offering its parking lot for all families to sell their used goods.

If you are interested in renting a space/table please see this CITY-WIDE GARAGE SALE – LETTER.

All are invited to attend the Garage Sale!

Parent Learning Opportunity

Focus on the Family presents a free livestream event today, April 19, 4:00 pm PST (recorded version available with registration).

Dr. Kathy Koch speaks on ways to “Secure Children’s Hearts to Unlock Their Potential”:

Childhood matters and today causes tomorrow. For children to experience their future potential, we must value them today. How do children know if we do? How can we secure their hearts, so we’ll have important influence and they’ll grow and become who God created them to be? Dr. Kathy will share three essential beliefs and three communication approaches that secure children’s hearts. You’ll appreciate the upbeat instruction and practical, realistic ideas.

Sports Day

Thank you to the parents who have offered to assist with Sports Day, however, we do not yet have parents willing to take the lead in coordinating this event.  Typically the day is split with younger grades in the morning and the older grades in the afternoon.  If there are two Parent Coordinators, you can divide the day between you and one person does not have to be present for the entire day.

If we do not have a Coordinator in place by April 29, the K-5 Sports Day will not take place.

If you are wanting more information on Sports Day, please contact Mrs. Watson.

Please email the PTL if you are interested in coordinating Sports Day.  The coordination can be shared between multiple parents.
